Sharing What We Learned from Our PBWiki Building Experience

Uploading Video:

I uploaded a QuikTime Movie - I got a message - "video unavailable"

solutions:

PBWiki uses a video host called Fliqz. When you use our Video Plugin, it uploads the video to Fliqz and they convert your video file this takes TIME.... thus the message "video isn't available"

1. Convert the movie to a .flv file (for example: open the movie in QuickTime Pro and export it as a Movie to Flash Video

2. Go to http://www.zamzar.com/ on the web - it is a free file conversion website and convert it to a .flv file

3. If the file is very large - The upload is may fail because it is timing-out.

Some people seem to have no problems uploading large files - others have to be small - this issue often depends upon your internet service provider.

4. One place you might try is YouTube/Google or another video site -  then you can easily display  videos uploaded elsewhere either by using the HTML plugin or the YouTube plugin (under video).

5. Reduce the size of your video.
