Longitude and Latitude:

Latitude: 41.4037°

Longitude: -70.6621°

Weather:

We have 4 seasons. Right now it is spring. We have 6 weeks more school until summer vacation.

Plants:

Animals:

Pictures we drew of animals of Martha’s Vineyard

People, Language, Customs:

We have a Native American tribe, Wampanoag, Portugese, Brazilians, Americans. In the summer our population grows from 15,000 to over 100,000 because many tourists come to visit. We have a large population of year round fisherman.

Do or did whaling ships (or kind of other ships) visit?

What artifacts could we give to someone visiting from another place in the world? Why?

We are studying Laura Jernegan. In 1862 Laura was 6 years old, she left on on a whaling ship with her father and family. She kept a journal of her trip.

What would Laura have liked about your location?

Do children today like the same things as Laura?
